Man Used PlayStation To Learn How To Drive, Led Police On Chase

Everyone has a parent that jokes they play too many video games and will probably think driving is something similar to what they see on the PlayStation. Well, one moron took what he did on a video game to heart, and then sent the cops on a police chase to catch him.

Adam Jones, 24, learned how to drive by sitting in front of a television and playing on his PlayStation. Unfortunately, the video game system is a horrible tutor. He ended up ramming his way down the roads in Grantham, Lincolnshire, at around 100 miles-per-hour. Obviously, Jones quickly had a police response unit behind his vehicle.

The man had already caused about £1,000 wroth of damage to various vehicles and public property. The only way he could be stopped was with a stinger spike system on the road, which police deployed after chasing him for quite some time.

The judge, who sentenced Jones to 12 months in prison, said: “You said you ‘Only learnt to drive on a PlayStation game.’ You were driving like a Playstation game. You drove as fast as you could as if in a video or Playstation game without any care for those around you.”
