Man Has “Perfect” Poop, Which He Donates To Hospitals To Help Patients

A 24-year-old research assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is described as having almost perfect poop, and has been donating to science. The poop will be turned into medicine for sick hospital patients. Eric, the research assistant, was well aware that fecal transplants could help individuals that lack good bacteria in their bodes by regenerating it. This type of donation is useful for those fighting Clostridium difficile infections, which is where antibiotics kill all the good bacteria in the body leaving harmful bad bacteria, such as C-Diff, which could kill someone.

In order to be a poop donator, Eric had to pass 109-point clinical assessment. His blood and stools also had to clear a hefty amount of laboratory screenings to make sure he didn’t have any infections. A lab technician then weighs Eric’s poop sample. Over the past eight weeks, Eric has donated over 10.6lbs of poop samples. It has helped produce over 133 treatments for patients.

According to scientists, the perfect poop is described as being very smooth and soft, similar to sausage. Eric said he had no idea is poop was so perfect, but he’s glad it can help anyone in need. “I had no idea. It turns out that it’s fairly close to perfect.”
