HIgh School Teacher Fired After Sexting Students
A Dorman High School math teacher has been fired because he was texting naked pictures of himself to both current and former students. According to sources, the math teacher and assistant cross-country coach John Sewell was fired after it was found he was acting inappropriately towards a number of students.
The school had the teacher sign a statement that read in part, “information brought to our attention and shared with you that includes inappropriate and sexually-oriented text messages and nude pictures of yourself and your male anatomy that you sent to both current and former male students. You admitted to this conduct.”
The school district said the teacher was fired about 90 minutes after they learned he was sexting current and former students with the apparent intent of seducing them. The district also said that teachers had gone through rigorous training in order to learn what proper contact with students was. All teachers are trained to know that sexting students is entirely inappropriate.
