Facebook “Dislike” Button Has Finally Been Announced

For years, Facebook users have been lamenting about the lack of a “dislike” button. As of right now, there is only an option to “like” a person’s status or photo, which leaves very little room for any feeling or emotion other than happiness. This isn’t to say that the “dislike” button will be entirely negative, but it will open up doors for situations that the “like” button simply didn’t feel appropriate for.

31 year old Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, made the announcement during a Q&A session at Facebook’s headquarters. He said that developers were very close to having the “dislike” button ready for Facebook users. He also said during the Q&A session that: “Probably hundreds of people have asked about this, and today is a special day because today is the day that I actually get to say we are working on it, and are very close to shipping a test of it.”

Zuckerberg did not specify when the button would be released or what it would be called.
