Canadian Man Arrested After Attempting To Bring Chainsaw Into Courthouse

Somebody tried to solve things their own way instead of waiting for it to go through a court of law, and it wasn’t the smartest of choices. Jason Collins, 43, attempted to break into the Unified Family Courthouse located in St. John’s, Newfoundland. He didn’t get really too far according to a reports; “When sheriff’s officers saw the man outside, one of them opened the door to see what was going on. When the officer saw the chain saw, the door was locked immediately and the police were contacted.

Part of the reason behind Collins’ actions could have stemmed from being served a day before the incident. Collins was arrested and has been charged with disturbing the peace, possessing a deadly weapon, and having the intent to cause harm with the chainsaw to an officer. He also received a psychiatric evaluation and was deemed okay to go through trial. The courthouse was scheduled to remain locked down throughout the day and the cases would be rescheduled to a different date.
