Alex Rodriguez Professional Career

Alex Rodriguez had his first overall selection in the ’93/ ’94 seasons when the Seattle Mariners selected him for the Major League Baseball amateur draft. At 21, he was named AL MVP, and Alex Rodriguez was already considered one of the best baseball players of all time. By 2000, he was a free agent, and this is when he decided to sign with the Texas Rangers. This is undeniably the most lucrative contract deal ever estimated at $252 million that was equivalent to a 10-year deal. In three years, he managed to improve the Texas Rangers in their division. Although in an interview, he later regretted signing with the Texas Rangers and wished that he had instead signed with the New York Mets.

When the Yankees team’s third baseman had knee complications, he was traded to the New York Yankees by the Rangers.

He continued to be an esteemed baseball player while producing exceptional results for his team. He took a break from the Yankees but managed to get back for his debut game in 2013. Shortly after his return, he was suspended by the MLB and went through an arbitration hearing that helped reduce his suspension term. This meant that he was suspended for the entire 2014 season. He has managed to hold his place as the 7th player in history to have more than 600 home runs.
