Three People Dead In Suspected Molotov Cocktail Attack In California

On Saturday, a witness called 911 to say that several suspects threw Molotov cocktails at a business in El Monte city before fleeing.

Grace Medrano, spokeswoman for Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, said that firefighters and police were quickly sent to the scene. The firefighters and police found two people dead and another man alive but covered in flames. The burning man, though, was trapped behind a locked gate, so firefighters could not reach him, and the man soon died from his burns. One of the firefighters severely injured his face while attempting to help the man.

The attack took place at a tire shop, but the name of the business has not been revealed. And though the witness who called the police mentioned Molotov cocktails, fire officials are currently trying to determine whether Molotov cocktails were used or some other type of fire bomb. As of now, there have been no arrests.
