Cyclist Falls Through A Gap Between Drawbridge And The Road

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has released video that shows a 37-year-old female cyclist ignoring the flashing signals and lowered gates at the entrance to a drawbridge ion Menasha, Wisconsin.

The woman weaves around cars that are waiting for the Racine Street drawbridge to lower, and attempts to cross the drawbridge whilst it is raised. Upon riding past the lowered gates, the woman moves towards the drawbridge and the front tire of her bicycle falls into the gap between the bridge and the road. The woman promptly falls off her bicycle, and into the gap.

More than a minute later, people come to her rescue – lifting the woman out of the gap before the drawbridge closes on her. It is currently unknown if the woman suffered any injuries.
