Drivers Attacked By Swarms Of Bees After Motorway Crash

Car crashes can often lead to injuries because there are such powerful forces involved, however one incident in Turkey has led to a spate of wounds that you probably wouldn’t expect. Some 18 people required hospital treatment after a swarm of bees that were being transported across the country attacked them.

Thousands of bees were released onto the busy motorway as the truck that was carrying them overturned. The vehicle contained a large number of crates, each containing a large number of bees, which were thrown onto the road. The escaped bees then caused havoc as they continuously stung drivers and passengers who had been caught up in the accident.

A group of emergency services were eventually able to stop the attacks, although it took more than two hours before the motorway was open to motorists once again. They used special suppression foam to disperse the bees, spraying the air and the hive crates directly to ensure that none of insects remained on the road.
