Police Shoot Unarmed Man Holding an iPhone 20 Times
Sacramento Police Department uploaded a video on Wednesday following the shooting of 22-year-old Stephon Clark on Sunday, March 18th. Clark was reported to have been breaking car windows with a crowbar, with 911 alerted to “a six-foot tall, thin male wearing a hoodie breaking car windows, including his own.”
Upon arriving to the scene, two police officers chased Clark into the garden of his grandparent’s house, where he had been staying, and shooting him. It is reported that Clark was shot 20 times, after police believed he was carrying a gun and a crowbar.
The following video shows the brief encounter between Clark and the officers, which lasted less than a minute from the moment the officers spotted Clark to when they yelled “Hey, show me your hands. Stop. Stop.” One of the officers also yelled “Gun. Gun. Gun.” which resulted in the officers opening fire on him, with Clark dropping to the ground and crawling.

A rectangular phone in a white case = gun. That split second image = 20 gun shots of a man suspected of breaking windows with a crowbar. Video cams muted to make the conversation between the shooters private. Paid leave? The shooters are being paid? #brokenheart
