Receptionist At Doctor’s Office Glues 3 Year-Old’s Eye Shut

Julia Vavatsikos is going public after she took her three year-old son, Vinny, to the doctor to be treated for a small cut over his eye. The Quebec based mother says that during the visit to the doctor’s office, it was a receptionist who had no medical training who applied a material that was supposed to seal the cut. The doctor, it turns out, was too busy doing the incredibly important medical practice of holding the boy and couldn’t apply the material himself.

The mother says that after the pair left the office, Vinny realized he couldn’t open the eye that had the cut. The mother became quite frightened on the drive home. “I thought I was going to faint. I got emotional, I got scared. I was angry. I didn’t know what to do. My son was screaming he was trying to open his eye … it was very, very, scary,” Julia Vavatsikos said. “The doctor was holding my son and kind of holding his eye and then the co-worker applied glue. He kind of missed and he glued my son’s eye shut.” She added.

The mother and son subsequently returned to the doctors, where the glue was removed. Luckily, there was no permanent damage to the eye.
