We often times think of motherhood as something that is only done by people who are in their early 20’s (if not even before that) but the fact of the matter is more and more women are giving birth to children later in life. This particular happening goes on in the regular world and it also goes on when talking about the hottest of hot celebrity moms. Check out just a few hot moms who have given birth after they turned 40.

Jane Krakowski

Jane Krakowski’s character on 30 Rock was always talking about getting fake pregnant in order to gain some attention. In real life, Jane Krakowski likely got pregnant and had her son, Bennett, at the age of 42 simply out of love.

Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were already raising eyebrows when they married thanks to their 10-year age difference. Then Mariah gave birth to twins at the age of 41. Those twins were named Monroe, after Mariah’s hero, Marilyn Monroe, and Moroccan, after the Moroccan-style room in which Cannon reportedly proposed to Carey.

Salma Hayek

Hayek gave birth to her daughter Valentina Paloma Pinault at age 41 way back in 2007. We don’t know which is more surprising, that she gave birth at 41 or that she’s in her 40’s at all.

Celine Dion

Celine Dion believed in the “if at first you don’t succeed…” approach to having birth. After numerous in-vitro fertilization treatments, the singer gave birth to twins Eddy and Nelson at the age of 42 back in 2010.

After failed attempts with former husband Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman didn’t think she could have kids. Apparently she just had to pass the 40-year-old threshold. Kidman and new husband Keith Urban had their first child, Sunday Rose, when Nicole was 41 in 2008. They had their second two years later.

Marcia Cross was approaching the age of 45 when she finally had her first child. The Desperate Housewives actress had fraternal twins Eden and Savannah in 2007.

Jennifer Connelly had two children before she hit the 40-year-old mark but she made this list thanks to having her third child, Agnes Lark, not long after she had turned 40.

Naomi Watts

Naomi Watts had her first child with longtime boyfriend, Liev Schreiber, when the actress was 39 years old. A year later, the couple had their second child Samuel Kai. Watts said she’d try for a third if she could be guaranteed it would be a girl.

Helen Hunt became a mother for the first time when she was 40 years old. The actress has said that the birth of her first child also changed the way she viewed her profession. She now works less because she prefers to be with her daughter instead of on a sound stage.

Susan Sarandon first become a mother way back in 1985. Apparently she got the baby making bug later on in life with husband Tim Robbins. Jack Henry was born in 1989 and then Miles Guthrie in 1992, when Sarandon was 46-years-old.
