Kanye West Announces Running For President While High
After a seemingly timid year for Kanye West, he decided to shock the world again on the stage that’s known for his antics. In 2009, West interrupted Taylor Swift when accepting her award for the Video Of The Year with the words: “I’m really happy for you, I’m going to let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time” and six years later, he is writing history again. While picking up the Video Vanguard Award, which was conveniently presented to him by Swift, Kanye delivered a fifteen-minute speech. He admitted he smoked some weed before coming on stage, and by the end of it, he announce he will be running for president in 2020.
According to the full transcript, Kanye finished his speech with soon-to-be-legendary sentence: “I don’t know what I’m gonna lose after this it don’t matter though because it ain’t about me, it’s about new ideas, bro, people with ideas people who believe in truth. And yes, as you probably could’ve guessed by this moment I have decided in 2020 to run for president.” Kanye’s speech is already said to be one of the greatest speeches of all time.
