Hugh Jackman Confirms Next Wolverine Movie Will Be His Last

It looks like it is a sad day for Wolverine fans, as star Hugh Jackman has confirmed that the upcoming Wolverine sequel, which is set to hit theaters on March 3, 2017, will be his final time playing the character. In an interview on The Dr. Oz Show, Jackman said: “It is my last time. It just felt like it was the right time to do it. And let’s be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last, so I’m so grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it.”

This will be the end of an era, as Jackman has played Wolverine in a record-setting eight movies. That record could be matched by Robert Downey, Jr., if he sticks around as Iron Man for the Avengers: Infinity War – Parts 1 & 2.

While it will be hard to say goodbye to Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, he feels it is the right time: “I kind of have in my head what we’re going to do in this last one. It just feels like this is the perfect way to go out.”

Do you think they will find a new Wolverine or does the character die with Jackman?
