Half-Naked Vegans Cover Themselves In Blood In Paris’ Streets

Hundreds of animal rights activists have come together to protest the slaughter of innocent animals used in the consumption of food throughout the world. These activists, all of whom were nearly naked, decided to cover themselves in buckets of fake blood in a public square within Paris to protest “animal suffering and meat consumption.”

This ‘open air slaughterhouse’ was held over the weekend at the Place du Palais Royal for the 269 Life campaign as part of the World Day for the Abolition of Meat, reports Daily Mail. This particular day has taken place every single year since 2009.

Many of these activists thought it best to lay on the ground within the square and cover themselves in red paint. However, one individual decided to suspend himself by the legs as two more activists, both of whom were dressed head-to-toe as butchers, stood beside him in a bold statement to the nation.

The 269 Life group’s statement reads: “We aim to bring the pain and horror other animals face each and every day out of the suppressed darkness and into the realm of everyday life. Most people are well aware of what is being done to other animals, and yet remain apathetic in the face of the atrocities committed in their name, even after witnessing the utmost graphic evidence.

It’s unlikely meat consumption will ever be abolished, but these folks are certainly trying to make it so.
