Elon Musk Wants to Preserve Humanity in Space

Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX, believes there’s going to be another dark age – particularly if there’s another world war in the future. While Musk isn’t making a predication if and when World War III is going to happen, he is saying that we need to be prepared, which is why he wants to establish bases on both the moon and Mars.

From his company’s recent advancements in leaving Earth’s atmosphere, Musk wants to create a functioning base on Mars that can hold and sustain 1 million humans somewhere in the next 40 to 100 years. Now, this might seem far-fetched, but based on recent advances and the rate that our technology is progressing, it’s more than possible.

“Mars will need everything from iron foundries to pizza joints to nightclubs,” he said. “Mars should really have great bars.”

However among these technological advancements is the creation of Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI is essentially allowing computers to think for themselves, and to make decisions – but could AI bring an end to humanity’s reign? Musk has stated that AI “scares the hell out of me,” further adding that AI is more dangerous than nuclear weapons.
